Abbey Foregate is a five-minute walk from the town centre. Cross the English Bridge and it is the road directly ahead. The Peach Tree is on the right, roughly halfway along before you reach the Abbey.
The Peach Tree is independently run with a small team. Booking ahead is advisable, particularly at weekends. The restaurant is not large, which is part of why it feels the way it does.
Abbey Foregate is worth exploring on foot. The buildings along the street range from medieval to Victorian and the street has a quieter character than the lanes on the other side of the river. Shrewsbury Abbey is at the far end, five minutes from the restaurant, and free to visit.
The walk back across the English Bridge at night, with the river and the town lit up behind it, is one of the better ways to end an evening in Shrewsbury. Takes about five minutes and needs no map.
